About TaxSaveIQ

Free, educational tax calculators built on current U.S. tax law β€” and kept honest by a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Our mission

Most people meet their tax situation once a year, under deadline pressure, through software designed to upsell. TaxSaveIQ exists to flip that: give anyone a clear, accurate estimate of what they owe and why β€” federal, state, capital gains, self-employment, and retirement contributions β€” for free, with no account required and no advice you didn't ask for. The goal is understanding, not a sale.

Methodology

Every calculator is built on the figures published in current law and adjusted for inflation by the IRS:

  • IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 β€” the 2026 inflation adjustments for federal brackets, the standard deduction, and contribution limits.
  • The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) β€” the 2026 SALT cap, the new tip and overtime deductions, the enhanced senior deduction, and related changes reflected on IRS Schedule 1-A.
  • Official state Departments of Revenueβ€” state income tax rates, brackets, exemptions, and treatment of retirement income, each cited on its state page with a β€œlast verified” date.

Where a state has not yet published its 2026 figures, we use the latest enacted values and flag them clearly so you know an update is pending.

Editorial standards

  • Tax data and calculator methodology are reviewed by Deepak Middha, a Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 18 years in hedge fund accounting and tax.
  • Each calculator shows its assumptions and a last-reviewed date, and links to its primary sources.
  • We separate facts (rates, brackets, limits) from estimates (your projected tax), and we never present an estimate as a filing or as personalized advice.
  • Corrections are made promptly when the law changes or an error is found.

Who reviews the numbers
